Team Website UPDATE!
Hi ladies,
So, I tried adding information to the original team website I had created but it wasn't allowing me to edit the headers SO, I created a new website without a template so we can make it how we want it. I've already started adding a few things to it as well.
Let me know what you think! I'm new to creating websites is you can't tell... haha.

Team Website
Hi Ladies,
I know the team website ins't due until December 13th, but I figured I would get this discussion post started since we got the OK to work on our website...
Here's what we need to do:
1. Create a website using Google Sites. I have created one but I'm not sure if it's what she's looking for since it doesn't look like her example. The one I created is a classroom theme. Let me know what you think or if we should change it altogether. https://sites.google.com/site/firstgradebuilding/
2. Revise and submit your final Team concept map for your Collaborative Project. It should match your Storyboard AFTER it has been reviewed by your instructor.
3. We need to look at ALL required materials that have already been completed and need to be completed for our team website. Since there are so many, you may view them on e-learning (I didn't want to make this post a novel... lol).
4. One person from the group needs to submit the link to our website before December 13th, and another person needs to submit out final draft of our concept map which is also due on December 13th.
I know this is a huge assignment so I'll try to get on as much as possible. If you ladies need anything feel free to text me 269-598-8729. It's honestly the best way to reach me.

Collaborative Storyboard for Team Web Site
Hello!
So, we have to make a storyboard to help support our team website and it is due in two days (November 20th) so I figured I'd get the discussion going... We need to think "outside the box" and make sure to include everything that has to be taught in order to be able to complete the final project. We also need to remember that this project needs a big "celebration" to be shared with friends, families, and the community AND group assessment/reflection -- this will give us, as teachers, feedback along with giving students a chance to reflect on the whole project.
These are the five things we need to focus on (on e-learning):
1. The first thing you need to do is to brainstorm everything that students would need to learn to complete the project from start to finish. Once you have this figured out, then you will decide on your web pages (seen in all caps on the storyboard sample). Every group member must create at least 2 web pages with the homepage and standards page not counting (for example, if you have 3 group members there should be at least 8 pages: 2 for each group member, the homepage, and the standards page).
2. Second, you need to figure what things should be on each page .... what all should be taught even though it has not be covered in your assignments. (in italics on the storyboard sample).
3. Third, you need to plug in all assignments (lesson plans, digital stories, virtual penpal/google map, collaborative podcast, final concept map, and collaborative blog) along with web URLs from your web evaluations on the pages where they fit with group member who did it. (in regular type on the storyboard sample).
4. Fourth, figure out what original resource each group member will complete and plug it in on the page where it fits (the requirement is: Each group member needs to create one original resource -- such as a lesson plan, a podcast, etc. Word searches and crossword puzzles do NOT count!) (in all caps and italic on the storyboard sample).
5. The last thing you need to decide is what new items of information you will need to fill in all areas on the pages you have decided on (the requirement is: Each web page created by individual group member (anotherwords, not homepage or standards page) needs to contain one or more new items of information not given throughout the semester -- ideas for lesson plans that could be completed for that area of your topic. Your new original resource does not count). This is also where you will add web sites for viewer to get more information on what you are suggesting for another lesson. Remember, this is just a brief explanation of new idea with web site(s) to give more information. (see New Item of information w/web sites on the storyboard sample).

Digital Story
Hey ladies, here is the post for our digital stories this week.
Again, our digital stories have to be about different concepts from our map, but they cannot be the same. Honestly I am a little confused about the digital story and how to use it with our lesson...
However, I think I am going to attempt to make my digital story using advertisements.
Let me know what you guys are thinking!

Revised Collaborative Concept Map Discussion
Alright, here is the discussion for the Revised Collaborative Concept Map. After creating our second lesson plans on data collection in concentrated areas from our first concept map I believe we have a lot to add on! This blog is for us to talk about what changes we have found and what changes need to be changed. This is also due by Sunday November 8th. If we still have access to our original concept map I think we can just edit from there. The site we used is bubbl.us and you will need to login with all your information. I plan to get started ASAP since I have a lot of homework to do over the weekend. No rush for you both though! :)

Lesson Plan 2 Discussion
Hey ladies, here is the blog post to discuss the second lesson plan we need to do that is due Sunday.
For this lesson plan we have to include data collection for a specific concept from our concept map. Just like the first, each of us have to use a different concept from our map.
If it is okay with you ladies, I was thinking about doing the concept of tools as mine.
So I will have a data collection sheet and students will be able to collect data on the types of tools they have seen before or used before.
Let me know what you guys think! Thanks!

Podcast
Hi Ladies!
Since we have to post weekly I decided to make a new post for the links for our individual podcasts. I figured someone could just save the podcasts from their email and combine them all to send in by Sunday. Hope all is going well! :)

Collaborative Podcast
Hey group,
I thought I would get a jump start on the next project. We need to do this collaborative podcast using Audacity. According to the directions we each need to talk about something different so I thought we could decide that early.
She gave examples, such as someone can talk about why we chose to use project based learning, another can talk about why we have done so far and another can talk about what we plan to do from here, or what the overall project will be. What are you guys thinking about?
I wouldn't mind talking about why we chose project based learning or what we have done so far. Just let me know!
Thanks,
Brianna

Lesson Plan Discussion
Hey ladies, I thought I would open up a discussion about what type of lesson you want to do. According to this weeks requirements we can't have the same lesson for our student, they have to be researching something different. So what are your thoughts?
Looking at our concept map, our students can research...
Designs
Materials
Tools
Open House: advertisements and invitations
Vocabulary and
Building
If you guys don't mind I will make my lesson plan about researching advertisements for our open house. Please let me know what you guys plan to do!

Virtual Penpals and Google Maps
Part A:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/19e_vc5bpT5f2c6XsELbZijSOD7S8xEE8TwCu9OHSGEw/edit?usp=sharing
Part B:
The students will use this map to explore different building structures in Indonesia. They can choose one or two of the marked place on the map and discuss with their penpals. If their penpals have seen or been inside any of the buildings, they can describe them. Students can also use google earth to view these buildings on their own.

Map
So, I was thinking since we are using Indonesia for part A, maybe we could use the capital of Indonesia, Jakarta for part B. It looks like it is a pretty big city. It could be beneficial for the penpals to talk about not only the houses, but also the other building structures in the city. We might not want such a huge map for 1st graders, so maybe if we picked a block or two in Jakarta? Let me know what you ladies think of that?

Evaluation of Websites
We need to figure out what types of websites we will need for our project. Here are some ideas:
- Research on different clubhouse designs
- Search for a site where the students can create their own blueprints
- Tool identification-maybe something that has a picture by the word
- Safety articles

Concept Map
Here is the concept map for the clubhouse project designed for our students. We have included everything that our students will need to know in order to begin their project. This project is designed for 1st grade students.

Lets make some decisions
I had to start a new post. There were so many comments and replies that it was distracting for me. That is probably something I have to get used to with blogging, sorry. Anyways..
Have we agreed on a grade yet? I say lets go with first grade so we know that they can do a little more. I like the ideas we have been talking about. We should decide what the students are going to build so we can fill in our concept map. I am just going to throw out some more options and if someone can choose one of the following or pick something else, then we can move forward. I am fine with anything you guys choose. We could have them build:
- Playground set/Park
- Bike
- Clubhouse/Treehouse
- Car
- Airplane
- Actual Building (grocery store, school, library, etc)
Thank you!!
